pet Ensure Pet Comfortableness in Absence of YouMany of us now and then have to travel here and there and sometimes we enjoy our trip. However, often we fall in trouble if we get pets because if you have a pet and make a plan for a business trip, holiday or vacation; it is very hard to decide that to take your sweet pet along or leave it behind, since it is a vital decision for both you and your companion.

If you decide to take your furry friend (pet) with you, should bear in mind that some specific animals are not appropriate for travel owing to temperament, illness, tender age, manners or physical impairment. So, if you get any types of doubts about your pet whether it is suitable for your pet to go for journey, you should talk to an expert veterinarian.

On the other hand, if you think it is best for the pet to go with you, you should devote extra time for your pet to prepare it for the trip. As an example, you will require to have all of the necessary supplies to keep the pet comfortable while it is away from home. Moreover, you must need to know pet-related restrictions and requirements imposed by terminal, airlines, destination countries, hotels and so on. You should flow some guidelines for traveling with a pet so that you make the trip safe, enjoyable and hassle free for both you and your buddy (pet).
But unfortunately, if you decide to leave your pet, there are a few alternatives for you such as:

1. You can keep it to any responsible friend house.
2. You may board the pet at any good kennel.
3. You can hire an animal sitter for your pet.

If any one of your friends, well wishers or relatives will agree to look after of your pet, you should ask if that friend or relative can take your pet into his/her home because animals especially pets can get lonely when left it alone. So, you should ensure that your sweet pet is comfortable and relaxed not only with the temporary caretaker but also in his or her home.

But if you want to board your pet in a kennel, you should study about the kennel, its previous performances and services. Moreover, you should inspect the kennel to observe their quality. For further information you may take references from the web or your veterinarian.

On the other hand, if you do not get any reliable person or boarding kennel, you can hire a pet sitter. You should take his/her interview, check their references, observe the performances and then appoint a best one.

If you give the responsibility to take care of your pet to others, while you are in trip. You should give the caretaker your contact number where you travel. Additionally, you should provide the caretaker the name and contact number of your veterinarian so that in any unwanted situation he or she can inform you and your pet veterinarian.
It does not matter what option you prefer if you can make sure your pet get comfortable in absence of you. So, you should ensure that your pet is comfortable with the caretaker you have chosen.

microchip cat Use Microchip for PetsWe see many pets owner do not use microchip for their pets but it is very necessary for your pet identity. Moreover, a microchip is very helpful to find out your lost pets. There are some pet owners who think that microchip has no advantage or they have no get any interest on the chip, there is great news for them to make their interest and see how beneficial a microchip to get a lost pet.

Recently, a couple of California has got a surprising reunion with one of their old housemates.  Do you know who or which their housemate was? I think from my previous discussion, you already guess which it was. Yes, it was a pet of Melinda Merman and Frank Walburg, the couple. The name of the pet is George and it is a cat.

George went missing above 13 years ago and it was last seen by the couple in 1995. Merman alleged after the pet went missing she visited many animal shelters and wrote to some veterinarians in search of the gray, yellow-eyed cat, George. In spite of all types of effort they cannot get back their pet. But recently it has resurfaced as the manager of a mobile home park trapped the weak as well as sick George and hand over it to an animal hospital. And a microchip helps to implant in George and allowed it to be traced back to its real owners. George weighs is now less than half of its original 14-pounds and its looking quite change though it can play some sports as before but by the help of the chip can easily recognize their pet after 13 years.

This incident is a testimony on favor of using microchip for pet identity and it will help to make interest those who do not use microchip for their pets.

Dogs Can Help Kids Improve Reading Skills

November 16th, 2008 admin Pets News 0

dogs Dogs Can Help Kids Improve Reading SkillsRecently, a new Swedish research has said, kids can polish their reading skills by practicing to read aloud to their pet dogs. The research result concluded by two Swedish brilliant students at a teacher’s training college and presented the result in a joint thesis at the University of Skovde. An interview with Swedish radio, Cecilia Persson and Rebecka Dirfeldt, the two students, told “A dog doesn’t judge and I can practice listening to my own voice and become more confident.”

They said they had set the technique to practice after spotting an article about specially-trained dogs in the U.S.A. that were well-trained in order that sit still while kids read to them. For this study, the two researchers asked some specific 8 years old children who had a dog as pet to practice reading an article aloud to their pet.

Cecilia Persson, one of the researchers, told Swedish radio that the overall outcome was favorable although several dogs ran off whereas other dogs fell asleep during the exercise time. On the other hand, “Most enjoyed that someone sat still and listened,” said Persson. She also hoped that as soon as she and her colleague, Dirfeldt start teaching they will promote and encourage their students to read aloud to their pet dogs so that their students hone their reading skill.
